Take That Oasis Fans!

We all know how badly Oasis want the number one spot with their greatest hits Stop the Clocks, Noel Gallager even went on Parky for Gods Sakes, so its with great pleasure to say that they were beaten by Westlife last weekend. That's right, Westlife. Does anyone even listen to them anymore?

Anyway now its looks as if Oasis are yet to be number one again this week after the boy bands are hitting rock stars all over the place. Take That's new album which is apparently causing fan hysteria (though I am yet to see any proof of this) is guaranteed for the top spot in the album charts, with the band already holding number one in the singles.

But to be honest with you they haven't got much competition. The public are classically worn out with All Angels, Angelis and basically anything else with Angels taking over the charts. The last thing we want to hear is another loosely based Christmas album which includes Danny Boy and, I Don't Like Mondays (?!) from X Factor flops G4. And however much you're wanting to hear I Don't Like Mondays right now, Il Divo are not going to heal the pain.

Its not even any better in the singles charts this week. The best is of course Muse who are using their little around the world trip to promote the crazy western Knights of Cydonia. It does make one hell of an encore but I can't see it being top ten material.

Then there's The Killers with (their best?) track Bones, with an equally weird video by Mr Burton (not his best) which is in danger of climbing extremely close to those Take That boys along with every dance remix you've heard in the last 6 months. Then if you look close enough in your record store this month you may just have seen the girl of doom which signals the longevity of The Fratellis. But with this piss poor attempt of a ballad don't worry they'll be back on the dole before you know it.
