Summer Sundae, August 9, De Montfort Hall, Leicester

This morning you awake to the ultimate festival downer, the slight pitter patter of rain hitting your tent (that's right we're camping) and things couldn't get much worse. After a swift bacon sandwich and a cup of tea we head over to the Phrased and Confused stage where we sit to marvel the poetry and spoken word of the day in a dry location. After feeling substantially cultural we head over to the main stage to see Danny and the Champions of the World, who today are joined by two Magic Numbers for their wonderfully twee performance. The group's uplifting spirit sees a few punters bob about in their raincoats but we make a quick dash to the comedy tent to be entertained by Robin Ince as the heavens open yet again. There's only one name on people's lips today however and that is Henry Rollins. Taking to the indoor stage for over an hour the former Black Flag singer tells stories of Ozzy Osbourne, Nick Cave and Barack Obama, but at the risk of sounding like a political rally, we make a dash for the exit before audience participation ensues.
